Gavin Jones


Gavin Jones was born and raised in South Africa. After leaving school he was conscripted into the South African Defense Force for 2 years where he attained the rank of Lieutenant.  Gavin then attended Cedara Agricultural College where he earned an Associates Degree in Agricultural Management. 

Gavin worked for Sutherland Farms for 15 years where he progressed to the position of CEO with a staff over 100 employees. During this time he served as the chairman of the local sugarcane growers association and also served as a board member of the South African Sugar Association.

Gavin has over 25 years’ experience as an accomplished businessman, entrepreneur, and investor. He has a great deal of international experience after having lived in South Africa, Canada. Gavin currently resides with his family in the USA. 


Doug Sprague P.Eng


Doug Sprague brings 30 years’ experience related to the oilfield. After graduating from the University of Alberta in Mechanical Engineering, he joined the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory in Tucson Arizona where he designed and built instrumentation that ultimately flew on the shuttle for more than 10 flights. 

Doug then joined Schlumberger and spent 15 years in various roles across North America. Doug started out in the field cementing and fracturing wells across Western Canada and the Arctic. He managed a technical training center in Oklahoma and then ran a division in South Texas generating $250 million annual revenue. His final position with Schlumberger was Health, Safety and Environment manager for the Canadian operations. 

Doug then built two successful companies that support and consult for the oilfield. Doug is well networked in the oilfield and has many years of operations and project management experience.


Ashley Ellis

Engineering Technologist

Ashley comes to Aqua De Terra as a Petroleum Engineering Technologist from N.A.I.T. with a passion for chemistry and over 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, ranging from drilling and completions to production optimization.

Ashley has spent his career using chemistry in surface and downhole remediation projects for companies like StimSol Energy Inc. and Trican Well Service. Having successfully developed and managed stimulation divisions for multiple service and chemical supply companies, he carries a chemical background, warehousing combined with knowledge of equipment and which make him an asset to the Aqua De Terra team.

As a father of three children he brings with him a love for nature and humanity as well as strong desire to meet the demands of today's tough industry problems in a more environmentally friendly way.


Michael Bailey


Mike was a military kid who also grew up working hard on ranches. After leaving school and trying his hands at blacksmithing, opticianry, behavioral management, and retail management, Mike realized his gift is seeing the bigger picture and improving the operation of teams and businesses.

He’s spent the last 20+ years assisting in creative developments through structure, communications, branding, and strategies, for both internal and external audiences. Industries include government, collegiate, science and tech, hospitality, and natural health.


Mark Cummings

Client Relations

Mark brings over 25 years of relationship experience to Aqua de Terra. Mark was born and raised in Alberta. After attending Mount Royal University in Calgary he moved to British Columbia for 7 years. 5 of those years Mark was a professional photographer then transitioned into the water industry.

Moving back to Alberta in 2000 Mark became the Southern Alberta Sales Manager for Canadian Springs Water Company growing their water treatment division.

After being recruited by another company, Mark then became the Western Canadian Regional Sales Manager of EcoWater Canada. He was instrumental in maintaining and growing 5 different lines of their business.

In 2006, Mark moved to Central Alberta where he started his career in the waste industry. In a short period of Mark became the Regional Sales Manager in Central Alberta. He grew the business from 30% to 70% market share within 7 years increasing the bottom line by several million dollars.
